The Education Fund of Miami Lakes announced that it is a finalist in Aetna’s Voices of Health video campaign, competing for a top prize of $20,000. The Education Fund’s current initiatives bring innovative methods to local schools, inform the community about public education and encourage private sector investment in public education.
The Education Fund’s investments to improve public education have totaled to more than $52 million. The Education Fund’s goal is to ensure all students succeed. For more information, visit www.educationfund.org.
The Aetna’s Voices of Health video campaign requires a one-minute video from The Education Fund, and other competing organizations describing how the prize money would help them further their mission. Groups will be reaching out for votes in a number of different ways, including sharing their videos through social media and other communication channels.
Online voting for Aetna’s Voices of Health video campaign is under way at www.aetnavoicesofhealth.com. The voting period runs until November 9 for 63 nominated non-profit organizations across six states that are working to improve health and well-being in their communities.
Aetna will award $20,000 to the groups that receive the most online votes and $10,000 to the second-place finishers. In total, 14 winners will win over $210,000 worth in grants.
“We’re excited to have been selected to compete for the Voices of Health competition. The prize money will help us add another food forest in a local public elementary school, and put 1,000 more students on the road to good health and good grades,” said Education Fund president Linda Lecht.
Voters can vote every day, for up to six times in one day. To vote for The Education Fund, visit http://www.aetnavoicesofhealth.com/2018/south-florida/agencies/the-education-fund/
