Fields at two parks closed for turf care

     The Town of Miami Lakes has temporarily closed some athletic fields in Royal Oaks Park and Optimist Park for annual summertime maintenance of the turf.

     The fields are scheduled to reopen Aug. 10.

     While work is being done, some areas remain available for play.

     Open spaces at Optimist Park are north of the basketball courts and the perimeter berm area. 

     One field may be left open on a rotating basis. 

     At Royal Oaks Park, there is an open play field east of the picnic shelters as well as the walking trail. 

     Athletes participating in pick-up games and other nonorganized sports may use the lower bowls there or the fields at Barbara Goleman Senior High School.
