The Town of Miami Lakes will begin its annual summer maintenance of the turf on athletic fields at Royal Oaks Park and Miami Lakes Optimist Park.

From June 9 through  Aug. 12, residents will not have access to the turf spaces at either park.

Parks will remain open with limited access. One field may be left open at Optimist Park on a rotating basis.

Miami Lakes Optimist Park at 6411 NW 162nd St. will keep an area north of the basketball courts open for play, as well as the perimeter berm for those who want to exercise.

Royal Oaks Park at 16500 NW 87th Ave. will still be able to use the open play field, the green space east of the picnic shelters and the walking trail.

Pick-up games and organized play can be done in the lower bowls.

The fields at Barbara Goleman Senior High School at 14100 NW 89th Ave. are also open to residents during the town park maintenance period.

For more information, the Town of Miami Lakes Parks and Recreation Department can be reached 305-364-6100.
