Final two weekends for Bad Jews performances

Community Friday, August 4, 2017

Residents and visitors still have until August 13 to catch the dark comedy Bad Jews by Joshua Harmon at The Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main Street.

Bad Jews explores the relationships between three cousins who are brought together following the death of their grandfather, a Holocaust survivor. Conflict ensues as the trio fight over a “chai” that belonged to their grandfather. As Daphna and Liam battle over who is more deserving of the memento, Liam’s girlfriend Melody and brother Jonah try to steer clear of the fighting.

Despite the serious overtones of death, identity, and religion, Bad Jews will delight audiences with its dark humor. The cast includes Hannah Benitez as Daphna Feygenbaum, Joseph Paul Pino as Liam Haber, Matthew Ferro as Jonah Haber, and Kimmi Johnson as Melody.

The show is directed by Robert Coppel and production manager is Clara Lyzniak. Bad Jews runs from to August 13, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm, and Sundays at 2:00 pm.

Tickets are $30 for adults, and $25 for students, seniors, and military personnel. The play contains adult language and is performed for 90 minutes without intermission. Tickets for Theatre League members with I.D. are $20. Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.mainstreetplayers.com or at the door 60 minutes prior to showtime.
