Fish were biting at Miami Lakes Father’s Day Fishing Contest

 Three generations of anglers dropped lines in Graham Dairy Lake during the annual Miami Lakes Father’s Day Fishing Tournament. 

      Held on the morning of June 14, the catch and release contest was hosted by the Cultural Affairs Committee and sponsored by Joshua J. Hertz and the Hertz Law Firm and The Graham Companies.

     The committee provided live bait and snacks and awarded prizes in several categories.

First Fish Caught: Moises Ceballos and Miguel Ceballos (8:05 a.m.)

Youngest Fisherman: Jordan Canizares (3.5 years old)

Oldest Fisherman: Miguel Zarran (75 years old) 

Smallest Fish Caught: Nicolas Uribe (Bluegill, 8 inches/.36 lb.) 

Largest Fish Caught: Joaquin Medina and Jacob Medina (Largemouth Bass, 17 inches/2.25 lbs) 

Most Fish Caught: Miguel Zarran (eight fish) 

Best Overall Fisherman: Joshua Rodriguez 

Best Fishing Team: The Proenza family (11 fish caught).

 Winners received medals, baseball caps and toys.
