Miami Lakes residents are encouraged to bring their children for the free “Get Hooked” Youth Fishing Clinic starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, at the Miami Lakes Optimist Park Marina, 6411 N.W. 162 Street.
The event is hosted by the town’s Youth Activities Task Force in partnership with the town’s Public Safety Committee.
Participants will learn fishing tips and proper catch and release techniques. Representatives from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will be on hand to provide additional information and free giveaways.
Remember if not able to attend the event, the Marina is always open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
