During the past several weeks, community members, local school clubs and organizations banded together to collect truckloads of hurricane supplies for all of those in need of assistance caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

The Disaster Relief Drive was hosted by Nu World Title, LLC, in partnership with Giving Gators, a non-profit organization.

The team has already sent donations to Puerto Rico and recently, drive to Immokalee with a truck load of donations for the locals that are in need of assistance.

On October 1, many of the same community members and organizations joined forces with a volunteer crew from Miami Lakes United Methodist Church (MLUMC) to travel to Marathon and Big Pine Key with a truckload of supplies for those affected in the Keys. The group witnessed complete devastation, many desperate faces, but also many thankful ones. The effort was led by MLUMC pastor Stuart Bodin.

The entire team of volunteers included employees of Nu World Title, parents and students from Giving Gators and Barbara Goleman’s Education Center’s CEA program and National Junior Honor Society Club, students from M.A. Milam K-8, employees from Xtreme Realty and Specialized Protection and Security, Amando Sotero Jr., and Miami Lakes resident volunteer Tony Fernandez.
