The 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts’ presence in South Florida -- Alligator Troop 1 in Coconut Grove was founded in 1923 -- will be celebrated next year, Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida said.

    It is seeking former scouts, scout moms and troop leaders to help mark the milestone by sharing personal stories and collectibles for an exhibit.

    Commemoration plans include:

-- A historical exhibit of Girl Scout artifacts;

-- Community activities to paint the town “Girl Scout green”;

--Commemorative patches that can be earned by community members, and

--Special events and celebrations to be announced.

     If you have photos or collectibles to share, send an email to Communications@girlscoutsfl.org or go to https://bit.ly/3zpyy7g to tell your story and post images.
