The Graham Companies is inviting the children of Miami Lakes, as well as students from area schools, to participate in the 4th Annual Main Street Banner art contest where winners’ artwork will be showcased along Main Street on the light pole banners.
This year’s theme is Miami Lakes Inspires Me. Perhaps it causes the artist to be athletic or enjoy the outdoors because of the parks; possibly Miami Lakes has instilled a love for animals or a desire to give back through community service.
The banner committee wants to hear from the youth in the community. Submit a piece of artwork that shows how the artist is inspired by Miami Lakes.
The contest is open to all children who live in Miami Lakes, or attend a Miami Lakes public school (Miami Lakes K-8 Center, Bob Graham Education Center, Miami Lakes Middle School, Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High School, Barbara Goleman Senior High School, Miami Lakes Educational Center), or any Miami Lakes private school.
Artwork is to be submitted for judging on or by January 20. Winners will be notified the week of February 6 and will be printed in the February 17 issue of The Miami Laker. Artwork will be printed on banners which will be hung along Main Street and be on display through June 2017.
