The Town of Miami Lakes wants to remind residents of its municipal code for using garbage containers.
Trash and recycling bins may be placed in suitable, sturdy containers and “shall not be visible from any point on the front lot line, from a lake or golf course...”
Garbage and recyclables may be placed in the designated area in front of a residence no earlier than 4 p.m. the night before collection day.
The trash containers must be removed from the front of residences no later than 7 p.m. on collection day.
Violations of Sec. 13-1601 of the code may bring warnings from a code enforcement officer.
A citation costs $250, the town said.
If garbage is not picked up when it is supposed to be, residents are asked to submit a request for service online at www.miamidade.gov/311direct or to call 311.
