Local 10 is hosting its second annual Earth Day Art contest. The station has received entries from Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe Counties. Lawton Chiles Middle School’s (LCMS) sculpture entry of an endangered Sea Turtle titled “They Matter Too” was selected as one of the top 10 finalists. Viewers can log onto to the website and vote daily for their favorite entry through April 14. The school that receives the most votes will be awarded $4,500 in art supplies. The winner will be announced on Earth Day, April 22. All original works of art will be displayed at Miami Children’s Museum from April 15 to 22. Lawton Chiles is proud of its eighth grade art students and art teacher Lilian Gonzalez who worked hard to bring awareness to such a crucial environmental issue.
