The Youth Crime Watch Poster and Essay Contest asked students in Miami-Dade County to submit essays and posters to reflect how communities and individuals can help make a difference in youth violence.
Among the winners in the high school division for the poster portion of the contest were local students Daniela Marin, sophomore at Goleman Senior High School who won first place, and Greter Gutierrez, sophomore at Goleman Senior High School who won third place.
The contest winner in the middle school division for the essay contest was second place winner Carolina Garcia, seventh grader at Bob Graham Education Center. The high school division winner for the essay contest was Barbara Goleman Senior High freshman, Chika Ojukwu.
