On Sunday, February 9, Miami Lakes will be providing free transportation to the 2014 National College Fair scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. at the Doubletree Miami Airport Hotel and Convention Center, 777 N.W. 72 Avenue.
The bus will leave Government Center, 6601 Main Street, at 11:30 a.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with representatives from over 200 colleges and universities to discuss admission and financial aid opportunities at their respective institutions.
Counselors will be available onsite to help determine the colleges that meet students’ requirements regarding location, major, and other areas of interest.
“Offering free transportation to the Fair gives more of our town’s students the opportunity to attend,” said Councilmember Nelson Rodriguez. “Education has always been a priority of mine, as well as the town.”
“The College Fair represents an outstanding opportunity for the parents and students of our community to receive information from colleges and universities,” said Miami-Dade County School Board chair Perla Tabares Hantman. “I am grateful to the leadership of the Town of Miami Lakes for providing no-cost transportation for our families to attend the College Fair.”
Transportation needs to be reserved not later than Thursday, February 6, by calling Town Hall at 305-364-6100.
