Sarah Figueroa of Miami Lakes was recently selected to participate in the 2014 Miss Jr. Teen Miami pageant competition that will take place on Sunday, December 28. Figueroa learned of her acceptance into this year’s competition when the pageant announced their selections following interviews of potential candidates in the Miami area.
Figueroa submitted an application and took part in an interview session. She will be competing for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and gifts.
Figueroa will be competing in the Miss Jr. Teen division, one of four divisions that will have young ladies ages 7 through 19 competing in modeling routines, which include casual wear and formal wear.
Most importantly, Figueroa will display her personality and skills while interviewing with this year's Miami judging panel. Personality is the first and foremost aspect that each contestant is judged on throughout the competition.
If Figueroa wins the title of Miss Jr. Teen Miami, she will represent Miami, and her home town Miami Lakes, at the national competition that will take place in Orlando. Over $30,000 in prizes and awards will be presented at the national competition while each winner enjoys the expense paid trip.
Local businesses, organizations and individuals will assist Figueroa in participating in this year's competition through sponsorship. Through financial support each contestant receives all the necessary training, rehearsals, and financial support needed to become a confident and well-prepared contestant.
