For Children:
Family Game Day! Enjoy playing a variety of table games and family and friends. For all ages at 3 p.m. on March 15 and 29.
Reading Ready Toddler Storytime – Stories, songs and activities for toddlers and their care givers. Meets at 11 a.m. on Thursdays, March 6, 13, 20 and 27.
Paws to Read – Certified therapy dogs listen as children read aloud and practice their reading skills. Meets at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8.
Fun in the Sun – Soccer Shootout – Join the fun by welcoming the 2014 FIFA World Cup with an outdoor soccer shootout. For all ages at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 15.
For Teens:
Tween Book Club – This is a tween book club for ages 8-12. Members meet once a month to discuss the chosen book of the month. Registration required. Meets at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22.
Teen Club: Games and More – Teens meet to play video games, watch anime, draw or discuss books. For ages 12-19 years. Meets at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11.
Celebrate the International Art of Storytelling – Make a Book inspired by Italy. Local artist Nereida Garcia-Ferraz knows a thing or two about Italian art and its relation to books. Join her for a creative afternoon of do-it-yourself bookmaking. Best for kids ages 8-12 years old. Limited to 20 participants and registration required at branch. Meets at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25.
AOS presents: Design like Davinci for Teen Tech Week – Celebrate Italy and invent like Leonardo! Design your own creation using tiny circuit boards. For teens at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19.
Teen Club: Get Fit! Teens workout with Wii at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25.
For Adults:
Navigating the Affordable Care Act – Have questions about the new Affordable Care Act? Meet with a representative from SRA International and get your questions answered on the new law, the Health Marketplace and learn what it means for you. Meets at 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 11, 18 and 25.
Author Hugo H. Blanco presents a preview of his new novela “Puerte Entre Dos Tiempos” at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 8.
Master Your Yard & Garden Series: Bufferfly Gardening – An in-depth series guiding the novice gardener into a well-versed gardener. Presented by staff and volunteers for the Miami-Dade County/University of Florida Extension Service and the University of Florida Institute of Food & Agricultural Sciences. For all ages at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12.
Book Discussion Group – Contact the branch for this month’s title. Meets at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18.
Immigration and Naturalization 101 – An information session on the Naturalization process at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26.
Commissioner Esteban Bovo’s Mobile Office Community Outreach – An opportunity for the community to speak with the Commissioner and/or his representative at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 10.
Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart Community Outreach – A member of Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart’s staff will visit the library to discuss federal issues or any problem a constituent may have with a federal agency. Meets at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26.
