In early December, Mater Gardens Academy (MGA) held a "Movie Night Under the Stars" event. Students and their families were invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to watch “Monster's University” on a large screen in the MGA field.
Admission to the event was free but proceeds from concession stand items sold at the event were donated to the UMater campaign. UMater provides scholarships for students throughout Mater schools.
Jessica DiPuglia, a 4th grade teacher at Mater Gardens and UMater coordinator further explained, "We raised over $600 in one night for the UMater campaign. This was a fantastic event that allowed families to come together and raise money for a great cause."
The faculty and staff at MGA thanked the MGA Student Council for helping with the concession stand.
