A group of students at Mater Lakes Academy recently participated in the annual Autism Speaks Miami Walk in Doral, where they joined thousands of people to help raise funds for kids stricken with the mental condition.
As the signature fundraising event for Autism Speaks, the walk plays a critical role in raising the funds needed to fuel innovative research and provide lifelong support and services for the Autism community.
The grassroots movement is powered by people on the Autism spectrum, their families and friends, service providers, schools, businesses and local volunteers.
Mater Lakes Academy’s goal was to raise $3,000 for the event.
