The Town of Miami Lakes announced its fall program for children, adults and senior citizens. Registration for youth ballet, jazz, and martial arts classes, as well as adult painting and Spanish, is only available online which began August 11. Visit www.miamilakes-fl.gov and use the Etrak Plus registration form. An account should be created in advance online. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Just Run Miami Lakes Program:
A licensed satellite program of the Big Sur International Marathon that is non-competitive, encourages physical activity, promotes good citizenship, healthy eating, pride in accomplishment, family involvement and is FUN!
Program is Free for ages 5 to 15 and begin in October. Classes are Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Register online at www.miamilakes-fl.gov/parkres.
Start Smart Program:
A proven instructional program that prepares children ages 3 to 5 years old for the world of organized sports without the threat of competition or fear of getting hurt. Parents work with their children in a supportive environment to learn all the basic skills of throwing, catching, kicking and batting.
Program fee is $14 for 7 sessions and begins in October. Classes are Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. For information, contact Katya Lysak at lysakK@miamilakes-fl.gov.
