Miami Lakes area churches host special holiday services

Special activities and services to celebrate the holiday season will be held for various area congregations. For details, contact church offices directly. 

Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, located at 15801 N.W. 67 Avenue, is holding special holiday mass on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's day. On Tuesday, December 24, a Children’s Festival in Carols will take place at 4:45 p.m. followed by a vigil at 5 p.m. Later that evening a Festival in Carols will be held at 11:30 p.m. followed by a bilingual Christmas Eve midnight mass. 

Mass will take place at 8:30 a.m. (Spanish), 10:30 a.m. (English) and 12:30 p.m. (Spanish) on Christmas day and New Year's day. A vigil will be held on Tuesday, December 31 at 5 p.m. 

Miami Lakes Baptist Church, located at 6250 Miami Lakes Drive East, will hold a Christmas Party on Sunday, December 8, and a Kid City Christmas Show on Sunday, December 15. Both events will occur at 6 p.m. A special Christmas service is scheduled for Sunday, December 22 at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. MLB's New Year's Family Fest will be held January 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. 

Miami Lakes United Methodist Church, located at 14800 Ludlam Road, is holding the first annual Winterfest event for the holiday season. Winterfest will continue on through January 1. Miami Lakes Congregational Church, 6701 Miami Lakeway South, will hold a Christmas Concert, Christmas Chorale Extravaganza, featuring the Christmas music of English composer John Rutter at 7:30 p.m. and a Christmas Eve Celebration on Tuesday, December 24, featuring a family service and Christmas Pageant at 5 p.m. and a traditional Communion service at 10 p.m. 

Christ the Savior Orthodox Cathedral, located at 16601 N.W. 77 Court, is holding a Christmas Eve vigil service at 5 p.m. and a Divine Liturgy on Christmas day at 10 a.m.
