Miami Lakes Branch Library sets programs for balance of December

Miami Lakes Branch Library announced the following programs that are available for the public during December:

For Children and Families: 

Homeschool Science Class – Learn how to create different science projects. Space is limited. Contact branch to register. Scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14.
Kids on Canvas – Kids will paint on stretched canvas paper and canvas board with acrylic paint as they learn about the techniques, styles and vocabulary of artists such as Renoir, Mondrian, Pollock, Warhol and others. Space is limited. Contact branch to register. Best for ages 7-12 years at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 17.

For Teens: 

Teen Club – Teens meet to play video games, watch anime, draw or discuss books at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdas, December 27. 

For Adults:  

GO Club of Miami Lakes – Now everyone can embark on a journey and uncover the ancient game of strategy, attack and defense, the Game of GO. Meets from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 17. 

Book Discussion Group – An adult discussion club. Call the branch for this month’s title. Meets at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20.

Mario Diaz-Balart Outreach Table – A member of Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart’s staff will be available to discuss federal issues and address any concerns a constituent may have with a federal agency from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 28.   

Miami Lakes Branch Library is located at 6699 Windmill Gate Road and is open Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., and Wednesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The branch is closed on Sundays. For more information, call 305-822-6520.
