The Miami-Dade County Library branch in Miami Lakes is offering classes.  

 Most events require preregistration and popular courses may fill up early. Sign up in advance to avoid being shut out of classes.

The library at 6699 Windmill Gate Rd. is open Monday - Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., and closed Sunday.

 

Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing for Toddlers 

Wed., Aug. 13, 20, 27, Sept. 3  

11 a.m. – 12 p.m. 

Toddlers and caregivers will hear stories, sing songs and enjoy activities.

Back to School Gaming

Enjoy a last hurrah before school resumes by playing board games or video games.

Tai Chi for Beginners

Led by a library staffer, this class of gentle and graceful movements is designed to improve balance, coordination, focus and mental health. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.

Citizenship Class

6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

This course will prepare qualified people for the U.S. citizenship test. Learn eligibility requirements, U.S. history and government; interview tips and more. Presented by Hispanic Unity of Florida.

Chess Free Play: Think, Move, Play

Learn to prepare tasty, nutritious meals and get tips on how to eat well while on a budget. Recipes and treats provided for the class.

Homework Help & Tutoring
