   The Miami-Dade County Library branch in Miami Lakes is offering the following online and in-person classes.      Space is limited; in some cases, you must register in advance for online events.

     Free 2022 Hurricane preparation guides are available at all branches.

Revolutionary Rogues: Spanish American Pirates and Privateers -- Online Event

In 1817, pirates and privateers invade Amelia Island to free Florida from Spanish rule. Historian David Head will share the stories about why Florida was attractive to both pirates and the U.S., and more.

Coral Reefs and Coastal Protection - Online Event

Tues., July 26, 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Learn how reefs protect shorelines against waves, storms and floods and help prevent loss of life and erosion. Presented by the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science.

Earn community service hours and make the library 

a better place for you and your friends. Visit the branch to submit a volunteer application and show a photo ID.

Aloha Islander Dancers - A Polynesian Celebration - Summer Reading Kick-off
