Miami Lakes Branch Library announced it will have new hours of operation beginning in October. The branch, located at 6699 Windmill Gate Road, will be open Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., and Wednesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The branch will be closed on Sundays.

For Children and families:
Reading Ready Toddler Storytime - Stories, songs and activities for toddlers and their care givers at 11 a.m. on Thursdays, October 16, 23 and 30.
For Teens:
Graphic Design and Video Production with YouMedia Miami – YouMedia hits the road to develop the technology skills of the future. Teens will showcase their final product in a culminating event on Saturday, October 25 at 3 p.m.
Wearable Book Cover Nails – Bring you own polish and tools. An in-house nail art expert will show attendees how she uses popular book covers as inspiration for her nails. Registration and permission from caregiver is required. Event made possible by Miami Dolphins Foundation at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 17.
Game On! Teen Gaming Competition – Celebrate National Gaming Day! Enjoy the latest video games while competing against others. Registration at the branch is required. Event made possible by Miami Dolphins Foundation at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 18. Winners will move on to the final rounds at West Dade Regional Library at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 15.
For Adults:
Book Discussion Group – Contact the branch for this month’s title. For ages 18 years and up. Meets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21.
Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart Community Outreach – A member of Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart’s staff will visit the library to discuss federal issues or any problem a constituent may have with a federal agency. Meets at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22.
