Miami Lakes offers online classes

Because of the
coronavirus outbreak, the Town of Miami Lakes postponed programming at
community centers.
Instead the town is offering classes on Zoom.us.
Go to: www.zoom.us, click ‘join a meeting’ and type the appropriate Meeting ID:

Mon. - Thurs.
11 a.m. Restorative Yoga
Mon. 6 p.m. Spanish, beginner
Tues. 6.p.m. Spanish, intermediate
Wed 6 p.m. Spanish, conversational, advanced
Thurs. 6 p.m. Spanish, intermediate

For kids, YMCA summer camps began June 15 at Royal Oaks Park, 16500 NW 87th Ave.

Campers will be offered opportunities to sing, swim, take nature hikes, play sports, create fashion shows and other fun activities.
The camps are for ages 5 through 12.
Hours are 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through
Friday, until July 31.
The costs are a $50 registration fee, and $135 per week for residents, and $155 per week for non-residents.
There are discounts available for siblings.
Campers must show proof that they are town residents or live in unincorporated Miami-Dade County.
The YMCA says it will follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidelines for COVID-19 safety, including reduced capacities, temperature checks, and frequent cleaning and sanitation.
