The Miami Lakes Economic Development Committee is hosting a free Scavenger Hunt in town through Dec. 7.
The Scavenger Hunt will help promote local shops during the holiday season as well as present 70 family-friendly “missions” that teams must fulfill to earn points.
To play, download the GooseChase Adventures app for either iPhones or Androids.
Businesses will offer clues about their enterprises and activities nearby that must be solved by teams of 1 - 6 players who will be eligible for discounts or prizes.
Team captains must be at least 18 years old and have to sign up through Eventbrite to receive an access code.
Scavenger Hunters must document on the app that they’ve completed their tasks by submitting a text, GPS location, videos or photos.
Teams are rewarded points for completing each mission. The leaderboard will be live, and participants will be able to watch the activity feed in real time.
At the end of the competition, the team with the most points will be crowned champions.
The Scavenger Hunt offers a way to get to know different parts of town and support local businesses in a safe manner during the coronavirus pandemic.
There will be prize packages for the teams that finish in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place.
