Miami Lakes Town Foundation is accepting grant applications

     The Miami Lakes Town Foundation is accepting applications for 20 qualified grants of up to $2,500 each. 

     Through Nov. 20, residents can submit paperwork seeking funds for a community project that focuses on continuing education, literacy, development of youth programs, beautification and cultural events. 

     In 2022, the foundation awarded 19 grants, money that came from $50,000 raised by the annual Miami Lakes Food & Wine Festival. Winners helped bring equipment and supplies to local classrooms; created an audiobook program for GiGi’s Playhouse; hung orchids in trees in Miami Lakes parks and created a school garden to alleviate food insecurity, among other programs. 

     Applications will be accepted until Nov. 20 and can be found at https://bit.ly/48ZBwOY. Recipients will be announced by Dec. 1, and checks will be presented between Dec. 4 and Dec. 8. 

     All projects must be completed by April 30, 2024.
