Community Tuesday, October 8, 2019

Guido H. Inguanzo gave a lot of his time to hometown.
And though he died last year, a mural that honors him will be dedicated Oct. 12 at
the Roberto Alonso
Community Center.
Artist Grisell Gajano
created the artwork, the town said.
The 6:30 p.m. ceremony, with Mayor Manny Cid and councilmembers present,
will happen at
16500 NW 87th Ave.,
followed by the town’s annual domino tournament.
Inguanzo worked in communications and for the city of Hialeah.
He founded the Miami Lakes Domino Club and
organized its annual tournament. He also was a member of the town’s Elderly Affairs Committee.
Inguanzo was 86 when he died Dec. 3. An artist, he enjoyed attending the theater, reading poetry and acted in television commercials and movies, according to his obituary.
He was the father of Miami Lakes resident Ramiro
Inguanzo and father-in-law
to Miami Lakes Town Clerk Gina Inguanzo.
Registration for the free tournament begins at 7 p.m. and is open to all players.
Play is in teams of two; at stake is a $50 gift card;
second and third place pairs will receive $25 gift cards.
Dinner and refreshments will be provided. The tournament is sponsored by
Leon Medical Center.
