Nominations sought for Distinctive Women

Do you know a fabulous woman, someone smart and accomplished who makes life better for others?
Would you like to see her get the recognition she deserves?
The Town of Miami Lakes and its Cultural Affairs Committee are seeking candidates for the Annual Women of
Distinction Awards that will be held in March.
Nominations are being accepted through Feb. 4 for the following categories:
Arts: A woman who has contributed to the cultural life of the community through theater, dance, music, art or literature.
Business: A professional woman who serves as an owner, chief executive officer or high-level manager of a company or industry.
Community and Civic Affairs: A leader, supervisor, administrator, manager or member who has made a significant contribution to the community.
Education: A teacher, administrator or director of a public or private institution who has been impressive in the field.
Government: A woman who has made a noteworthy contribution to the community through her work in or with the local government.
Health Services: A woman who has made an outstanding contribution in healthcare.
Humanitarian: A woman who has contributed extensively to the community; she may or may not be affiliated with a commercial, professional or non-profit agency or group.
Volunteer: A woman who has made a memorable contribution by serving the needs of others.

Winners will be announced March 7 at the awards luncheon, to be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Grand Slam Ballroom at Shula’s Hotel and Golf Club, 6842 Main St.
