Motorists in the western fringes of Miami-Dade County can expect some delays due to the finishing touches for the N.W. 87 Avenue roadway expansion project from Miami Lakes Drives to N.W. 186 Street.

The project includes widening the street from two to four lanes, along N.W. 87 Avenue from N.W. 162nd Street to Miami Gardens Drive.

The roadway improvements include milling and resurfacing, a raised curbed median, sidewalks, curb and gutters, a continuous storm drainage system, signalization, decorative lighting, bicycle lanes, culvert replacement, pavement markings, and signage.

The project also includes the construction of a 36-inch ductile iron water main along N.W. 87 Avenue, from N.W. 154 Street to N.W. 170 Street.

The entire project is expected to be complete by June 30.
