Our Neighborhoods The Anchorage
History

The Anchorage was developed during the late 1990s by Luxcom Builders.
The community is fully developed, with 213 townhomes.
The Anchorage entrance is on Oak Lane at Northwest 82nd Avenue, where drivers will be stopped at the first guard house that serves several communities.
Vehicles are screened and visitors’ tags are documented.

Amenities

The second guard house serves The Anchorage’s residents.
Guards screen cars and call homeowners before granting access.
The neighborhood was built at the southwestern corner of Graham Dairy Lake, and some homeowners have water views.
The southern side of The
Anchorage runs parallel to Commerce Way.
Other amenities include a community pool for residents that has a lake view, and visitor parking.
Perhaps its best asset is it’s in walking distance to Picnic Park West, just to the northwest.
The park is a magnet for town residents and activities, including the Farmer’s Market and free yoga classes on Saturdays and movies shown at night.
The townhomes are painted tan and the facades are not flush to the street; some have small covered patios at the front entrances and provide visual interest.
Hunter green is used as an accent color, on the front of garage doors, and on decorative grillwork and shutters.
Paving stones were used for driveways and the roofs have clay barrel tiles.
The community is close to the Park Centre Shops and highways including
The Palmetto Expressway and Interstate 75.
Nearby is Bob Graham Education Center, for students enrolled in kindergarten through eighth grade and which has an “A” grade from the state.

Who lives there?

There is a mix of property owners and renters. Some residents have lived there for many years while others are new to the community.
Adrian Gonzalez has lived with his girlfriend at The Anchorage for four years.
“It’s very quiet and safe,” Gonzalez said. “People are very friendly and helpful.”
Sergio Duran, a broker associate with The Keyes Company, said, “It’s a stable community. There is not a lot of turnover because people are happy living there.”

What does it cost?

Two homes were recently listed for sale, at $385,000 and $399,000.
Since September, three townhomes that were all corner units with three bedrooms and 2.5 baths sold for $330,000 to $369,900, Duran said.
Owners pay a $160 homeowners association fee.
