On Northwest 60th Avenue in Miami Lakes, there is a row of offices within a yellow two-story building.
Known as the Gold Coast Office Building, it has 14 offices that offer services ranging from beauty to finance.
Built in 1979 and owned by Gold Coast Real Estate Inc., the property is managed by The Fiur Organization.
Joshua Ladd Howell is The Fiur Organization’s leasing director for the building. He says that Miami Lakes is attractive to tenants due to its proximity to the highways, but also, the offices themselves are a draw.
“This building has 14 units that start at 640 square feet, which is not an easy thing to find in Miami Lakes,” Howell said.
The offices are good for start-up businesses or those who may be moving from a home office into a larger space – Howell says they call them incubator spaces since the building attracts smaller firms.
They are so popular that there is full occupancy and a waiting list, he said.
“A couple of them are the equivalent of two bays, so they’re 1,260 square feet or so,” Howell said.
Each office has its own air conditioning unit and restroom, “so they’re kind of like standalone offices,” Howell said.
Business owners are able to set their own hours and come and go as they please.
“Some people have mentioned they feel it’s a safe area because it’s literally behind the county police station,” Howell said.
