Say hello to Newman!
Sally Whitton named her English Bulldog for his resemblance to actor Wayne Knight, who portrayed a devious character called Newman on the “Seinfeld” sitcom.
Though Newman sheds and may drool, he’s not a villain like his namesake, she said.
“It’s a face everyone has to love,” Whitton said. “He’s not mad. He’s a real sweet dog.”
The 5-year-old boy was rescued by the Humane Society of Broward County.
Newman had been wandering the streets and was very thin, Whitton said.
She adopted him 18 months ago from the organization and they live in Miami Lakes.
Newman follows her around the house and “everywhere I go,” she said. He loves car trips and has traveled with her to North Carolina.
“I call him an old soul because he does everything slow,” Whitton said.
