Rain fizzles, fireworks sizzle at Miami Lakes party for 250

Miami Lakers braved the rain and made it out to Veterans Park to celebrate the Fourth of July and America’s 250th birthday.

The annual Miami Lakes Fourth of July celebration attracted hundreds to Veterans Park for a night of fireworks and fun.

     Organized by the town’s Cultural Affairs Committee, the event included a DJ, music from the 13th Army Band, a beer and wine garden, food trucks, games for kids and performances by the Main Street Players.

The Special Needs Advisory Board also provided a sensory safe room for kids and adults with special needs.
