Miami Lakes Vice Mayor Manny Cid is hoping his town will join New York City in mandating a 25 miles per hour speed limit on residential streets. Lawmakers in the Big Apple approved the lower speed limit that takes effect on November 7.
“I have received many emails from residents concerned with speeding on residential roads,” said Cid. “My collegues and I have been working on reducing the residential speed limit from 30 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour, but it would help if we were able to receive more resident feedback on the issue.”
Residents who wish to express their views on a lower residential road speed limit are asked to contact Cid via email at cidm@miamilakes-fl.gov, or mannycid2012@gmail.com
