The Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee marked Hispanic Heritage Month with a celebration of Peru.
“Sabor Perú: Flavors, Colors and Culture” was held Oct. 4 at the Roberto Alonso Community Center.
“It was one of the most festive and best attended Cultural Affairs Committee events ever,” Chair Felicia Salazar said in an email.
Guests included Diego Arbulú, deputy consul from the Consulate General of Peru in Coral Gables, award-winning author Maria Juliana Villafañe and several town officials.
There was an art show, music and dance performances and traditional Peruvian food catered by Dr. Limon in Miami Lakes.
