Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee is inviting residents to enjoy a musical evening at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, as the Symphony of the Americas presents its Summerfest 2018 Concert at Miami Lakes United Methodist Church, 14800 N.W. 67 Avenue.

Summerfest is known for presenting internationally acclaimed guest artists from around the globe and during its 30th Anniversary Season, the celebration continues through August with a month of performances throughout Florida and the Americas.

Refreshing cool waters and the Oscar-winning movie “Shape of Water” are all inspirations for the Symphony of the America’s concert – “The Shape of Music.”

Concert goers can nourish their artistic soul under the baton of Artistic Director, Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese, in the music of Bach, Handel, Saint-Saens, Mozart, Delibes, Ginastera, and the legendary Argentinean Carlos Gardel.

Included in the concert is a commissioned composition by Italian composer in residence, Lorenzo Turchi-Floris.

Soloists include the Festival’s concertmaster Orlando Forte of Cuba, Symphony of the America’s principal oboe Marco Key-Navarrete, and acclaimed international organist Tim Brumfield, among others.
