Thousands of resident attended the July 4th Concert and Fireworks show

The 11th annual Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks Show was a huge success with thousands attending the Miami Lakes festivities at Picnic Park West.

Attendees brought their own blankets and chairs to secure a good view for the fireworks show. Elected officials kicked off the event by received a check presentation of $1.3 million in state grants for canal bank and drainage improvements.

People danced to the music by DJ John and The Jai Rose Bank, and enjoyed tasty selections from various food trucks.

The highlight of the event came when Mayor Wayne Slaton and members of the Town Council counted down to the start of the dazzling 30 minute fireworks show.

“Thanks to all who attended with their families, friends, neighbors and loved ones,” said Slaton. “It was truly a pleasure to share this special day with all of you. Special thanks to the Cultural Affairs Committee and town staff for organizing such a remarkable event for our community to enjoy.”
