The Miami Lakes Town Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2026 Community Mini-Grant Awards.
Applications for this year’s grants are open until Oct. 30, with grant awards announced on Nov. 12.
The grants are funded with proceeds from the annual Miami Lakes Food and Wine Festival, the signature fundraising event for the nonprofit Town Foundation.
The annual grants provide funding opportunities for local community groups and non-profit organizations as well as school clubs and teams.
Grants are awarded to projects that focus on areas such as education, literacy, youth development, beautification, environmental stewardship, cultural enrichment and projects that positively impact the Miami Lakes community, a release from the town said.
“Continuing an emphasis on kindness and community connection, special consideration will be given to applications that incorporate a “kindness component”,” the release said.
Projects that also promote compassion, inclusion, goodwill and community unity will be considered.
“Through the Community Mini-Grant Program, the Miami Lakes Town Foundation continues its longstanding tradition of investing in local ideas and supporting projects that make a meaningful difference in the lives of Miami Lakes residents,” the release said.
