Town Lawmakers and staff support 'Movember Movement'

During every November, “Movember” encourages men to join the movement by growing a mustache for 30-days. This year, the Town of Miami Lakes mayor, councilmembers and staff supported the “Movember Movement” by growing mustaches of their own.

Globally, the funds raised support world-class men’s health programs that combat prostate and testicular cancer, and mental health challenges. These programs, directed by the Movember Foundation, are focused on awareness, education, and research to achieve an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.

To donate online, visit http://us.movember/com/donate and search for “Town of Miami Lakes.” You will then have the option to donate to an individual or to the town as a whole.

“I was proud to grow my unkempt mustache in the month of November,” said Vice Mayor Manny Cid. “Movember is a great cause that focuses on men’s health. From its origins in South Australia to Main Street in Miami Lakes, the Movember movement is truly changing the face of men’s health.”
