Community Wednesday, January 3, 2018

Town of Miami Lakes will officially kick off its new partnership with the SPIN Bike-Sharing Company at the Neighborhood Improvement Committee’s (NIC) 2018’s first Community Bike Ride at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, starting at Miami Lakes Picnic Park East - Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive East.

On this FREE SPIN Day, community bike ride attendees will get the chance to take free SPIN bike rides, as well as take advantage of special promotions for future rides. NIC will debut a new Community Bike 5.5-mile family-friendly route beginning at the Youth Center location.

The SPIN bikes are orange-colored bikes equipped with onboard GPS unit and cellular modems allowing an operation on a station-less bicycle sharing system using a mobile app for reservations. Since the bikes are station-less, they can be parked anywhere within the Town at designated landscape/furniture zones on sidewalks.
