Anjoli Vazquez, Hialeah, Home school organizer
“‘Aliens’,” Anjoli Vazquez said. “The scariest scene in the movie was when the guy’s chest bursts out. I asked my mother, ‘What was that?’ She said it was fake, so I didn’t worry about it.”
Saleema Chan-Joseph, North Miami Beach, Teacher
“The original “Exorcist,” because it was based on a true story,” Saleema Chan-Joseph said. “When I was a kid, I thought scenes from the movie could happen in real life.”
Phil Rarick, Weston, Attorney
“I love Halloween, but not scary movies because if it is a really good movie I can’t sleep afterward,” Phil Rarick said. “My kids say I’m a wimp on this and I agree. My favorite Halloween movie is “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” Now and then we all do stupid things, and Linus is determined to wait for the Great Pumpkin again next year, even though everyone is laughing at him. It’s funny, and as scary as I can take!”
Kaelan Gonzalez, Miami Lakes
“‘Halloween’,” Kaelan Gonzalez said. “I’m all for the classic horror movies and because of the vintage look of “Halloween." When I was kid, seeing Michael Myers for the first time was super scary.”
Claudia Rogger, Miami Lakes, Teacher assistant, South Florida Autism Charter School
“Can a true horror movie fan really pick a favorite?” said Claudia Rogger. "My first? It was “The Exorcist.” It must have been pretty traumatic for me, I can’t even remember how I even came to watch it. All I remember is that I was very young, six or seven years old, and that I was terrified, but horribly intrigued! I love all of the classics, like “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” “Halloween,” and “Child’s Play,” just to name a few.”
