Tony Fernandez. Miami Lakes IT Executive and Miami Lakes Councilman
“It’s a book called “The Energy Bus: [10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work and Team with Positive Energy” by Jon Gordon],” Tony Fernandez said. “ ... I have barely started but it looks promising. That’s probably [it], outside of things I have had to read for work. The one thing I am looking forward to reading for pleasure is that."
Brandon Urrutia, Miami Gardens Theater artist
“Right now I am reading “Still Alive” by Jan Kott, he is a Polish theater critic and this is sort of his autobiography ... it’s been an on and off pick up but I’m excited to finish it this year,” Brandon Urrutia said.
“Outside of “Black Sheep,” which I had to read about a hundred times right now [he’s directing the show at Main Street Players], I’ve read “Starstruck” by Elaine Lee. It is a sci-fi themed play from the 70s or 80s."
Jessica Salazar, Miami Lakes, Physical therapist
“I have read “The Paper Palace: A Novel” [by Miranda Cowley Heller], I’ve read “Verity” [by Colleen Hoover], the Crawdads book everybody is talking about [“Where the Crawdads Sing,” by Delia Owens],” Jessica Salazar said. “I have a long list on my queue here [at the Miami Lakes branch], a book by Tessa Bailey, a couple of books by the same author who did “Verity,” so I have a quite few books."
Thomas Salazar, Miami Lakes, Adorable child
“We’re doing a lot of different animal books, so this time we’re doing snakes, turtles and sharks,” Jessica Salazar said about her 4-year-old son’s reading list. “When we do zoo animals, we’ll go to the zoo after. There are no actual titles [yet]."
Alicia Molina, Country Club, Physical therapist
“For him, he loves anything about the ocean, so this year the program they have here is awesome,” Alicia Molina said about her 2-year-old son who accompanied her to the Miami Lakes Library. “He loves it. For me, I’m just reading the Montessori Guide for toddlers. No other books or time to read anything else.”
