Q: Where are you from and what is your background?
A: I was born Miami Lakes Florida, grew up in Miami Lakes, Florida and I still live in Miami Lakes, Florida.
Q: What do you most like about Miami Lakes?
A: The community we have in the town is close-knit. We all come together in time of need, and we come together for community events to have fun. Everyone seems to know everyone in Miami Lakes.
Q: What do you dislike about the town?
A: Not many things I dislike about Miami Lakes except when it comes to the traffic. It’s a great town but the traffic is the one thing I dislike the most.
Q: As chair of the town’s Youth Activities Task Force, what are the challenges and what do you hope to accomplish?
A: On the Youth Activities Task Force, half of the members are children, and the other half are adults. One of the challenges is teaching the younger people who join our committee what our committee is all about. I have been a member of the committee for the past nine years and I served on the Miami-Dade Youth Commission.
We learned a lot about community service, and we want to teach kids the value of serving their community and that everything is possible. We want to show them that making time for community service is worth it. As for what I hope to accomplish, seeing the committee grow and having more events in the town.
Q: What is your biggest accomplishment, whether in your personal life or career?
A: Winning the Presidential Volunteer of the Year Award when I was in high school, and the National PTA Youth Outstanding Advocacy Award when I was a student at Miami Lakes K-8 Center.
Q: Do you have a fantasy career?
A: My dream job is becoming a public relations specialist. But my biggest dream is becoming president of the United States.
Q: What are you reading, what podcasts are you listening to?
A: I don’t read many news articles or listen to podcasts. I listen to the events around me by keeping track of them in the news. I’m a history buff so I watch YouTube videos on American history. I like watching political and government history. Anything with history, I’m all in.
Q: What are you binge-watching on TV?
A: Shows involving romance and horror movies. I love shows with excitement, action and romance.
Q: Where did you last travel to on a vacation?
A: A family vacation to Colorado this year. We haven’t been out of the state in a while, so we went to Colorado to ski. My family experienced snow together and spent time in a cabin, bonding together.
