Over the summer, several Monsignor Edward Pace High School students successfully passed the Microsoft Office Certification Exams becoming MOS certified.
Sophomores Joseph Basulto and Cesar Jimenez, are now Microsoft Office Specialists in both Word and Powerpoint. Sophomore Alexandra Perez is a Microsoft Specialist in Powerpoint and senior Darryl Auberry, is a Microsoft Specialist in Word.
MOS certification is the leading IT certification in the world. More than 1 million MOS exams are taken every year in more than 140 countries. In today's ever-changing world of technology, IT certification is becoming increasingly important.
According the the Microsoft Certification Program Satisfaction Study in April 2013, 91 percent of hiring managers consider certification as part of their hiring criteria.
Pace is currently licensed to provide students with the exams necessary to become MOS Certified in any of the Microsoft Office 2010 programs and students can prepare and take exams in the school's computer labs.
Classes will be offered after school and students can also prepare for the exam as part of the Computer Applications 2 course during the second semester.
