American High honored as 2017-2018 STEM school

American High School was recently recognized as a Miami-Dade County Public Schools STEM school for the 2017-2018 year with the Bronze level.

American was designated a STEM school by primarily promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education and integration among its disciplines.
The school’s designation criteria includes STEM competitions, professional development, partnerships, equity and accountability.

In addition, the STEM strengthens science, mathematics, visual and performing arts, accelerated career and technical offerings.

The three distinct STEM recognition levels are Bronze, Silver and Gold, as American is seeking to be designated as a Gold STEM school during the next school year.
