Miami-Dade County Public Schools will open its doors on Monday, August 22, 2016 to approximately 342,000 students to begin the 2016-2017 school year.
In order to help parents and students have a smooth transition back to school, a tool kit has been created with information from registration and vaccination requirements, to school hours, important dates, and school safety. The kit is available online at http://news.dadeschools.net/toolkit/toolkit.htm in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.
Students can benefit from information about various Choice schools and diploma options, and parents may also use it to find out about important dates, how to apply for a free phone, a mobile device and free lunch, as well as policies regarding their child’s education.
