Bob Graham Education Center (BGEC) is closing out the school year and saying goodbye to two long-time teachers, Patrice Wade and Laura Lisowski who will both be retiring this year.
Wade began her teaching career in Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) in 1976. She has been at Bob Graham Education Center since 2004 teaching math, science and social studies. Wade feels that she has been blessed to have worked at a job that she finds so rewarding. She has enjoyed her life-long career with M-DCPS but is ready to begin this new retirement chapter of her life.
Lisowski is retiring after 39 years of teaching, 36 of those years she taught in M-DCPS. Lisowski has spent her last eight years of her career at BGEC. Her jobs have spanned from teaching, to mentoring teachers to writing curriculum for the math department. Teaching has always been her passion and loves to see the excitement in the eyes of her students when they discovered something or grasped a concept. Lisowski is excited about the next chapter in life which will be filled with her new grandson and travel.
Both teachers will be dearly missed by the BGEC family. They both not only taught but they touched so many lives while dedicating their careers to teaching. BGEC thanks both of them for the wonderful years and wishes them the best in their next adventure.
