BGEC music teacher retires after 40 years

     Bob Graham Education Center in Miami Lakes bid farewell to longtime music teacher Audrey Carballo. 

    Carballo was an employee of Miami-Dade County Public Schools for 40 years and retired on Jan. 31 from the school. 

     BGEC celebrated “Ms. Carballo Day” in honor of the outgoing educator, Principal Yecenia Martinez said in an email. 

     Carballo was feted with a luncheon and “the entire staff and student body expressed their love and appreciation to her,” Martinez said.

     Carballo plans to bake and cook until her husband retires. 

     “She will also continue to teach her private students,” Martinez said.
