Brian Lopez, an 8th grader at Bob Graham Education Center (BGEC), was one of only three students that were recommended by his band director to audition for the Annual Superintendent’s Honors Music Festival. He is the only student that was accepted to play at the concert.
This is a great accomplishment, especially since Lopez has only been playing trumpet since the beginning of this school year. His advanced skill level can be attributed to his newly discovered love of music as well as his tenacity to improve his musical ability.
Lopez will perform with the Honors Concert Band on April 21 at the Miami Senior High School auditorium. The BGEC family offered special thanks to his band teacher Carlos Perez, who has worked diligently to get him to this level.
