An elite group of students from Bob Graham Education Center participated in the 2017 Science and Engineering Fair and the SECME Olympiad at Miami Dade College North Campus in early February. The participants were fourth grader Alecxavier Estrada, fifth grader Adrianna Leal, sixth grader Sofia Gervan, seventh grader Morgan Knight, and eighth graders Sofia Dubon and Naomi Rodriguez. In the bridge category, eighth graders Armani Estrada, Ashley Pineda and Cecilia Valle competed with their hand-made bridges. The STEM Academy competed in the Water Rocket, Mouse Trap, Banner, VEX IQ, Brain Bowl, Math Bowl and Essay competitions.
